I tend to agree with that point, I just find it curious that they haven't gotten ahead of this. There is an expression in the law, not only must there not be a conflict, but there must not be the appearance of conflict. This attitude applies across the board.
The commission may not feel there is anything inappropriate, but by not going thru the motions in the public view, it gives a bad appearance.
There may have been players who noticed it, and they may have kept silent because they benefited, or did say something, but it was done privately.
I was totally unaware of this until today, and I find it immensely interesting. I've seen small errors occur at tournaments before, by the sheer size of the main event, these errors would be exacerbated, but 2mil is a big error. Now I really want more info (curiosity is killing me).
