Actually, an unofficial poll was taken by the grass roots John. It was called "The Pledge" ... of which over 500 club members supported! I recall that someone had attempted to gather names of those who were not in support of Slab-Free's pledge ... and got very little support.

Club officers are not bound to send out a poll to the membership everytime a decision has to be made. That's why the club membership votes people into office who supports their point of view and will not vote for those who do not.
