I was reading your posts, and it brought to mind a number of serious concerns of mine. I have been putting off writing to the club Board of Directors to urge them to create a club Hobby Protection Committee to delve into a number of chip matters. I just came back from Puerto Rico, where I bought from some coin dealers $100 and $500 rather recent looking obsolete chips for less than $10 each.
What if these riverboats go bankrupt and auction off the chips (at ten cents each) along with the furniture, etc.? What if they change jurisdictions? What if they go out of business and the old chip manufacturers or old executives or shareholders decide to reissue old obsolete chips? What if they stay in business and decide to reissue old chips, even "limitted edition" chips? Does anyone know what rules they have to abide by? For each of the jurisdictions? Are there any rules? Does anyone care?
