The Puma Las Vegas Baskets
(NEW YORK) It’s all or nothing for Puma, Vegas-style.
The German activewear company has partnered with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to produce Puma Las Vegas Baskets, a special-edition sneaker inspired by Sin City made exclusively for the hotel’s VIP and celebrity guests.
Beginning Tuesday, only 200 pairs will be distributed to a select group of celebrities and high rollers visiting the hotel. “They say ‘the best things in life are free,’ and we hope to make that sentiment ring true with our new sneaker with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino,” said Barney Waters, vice president of marketing for Puma North America.
The sneakers, packaged in a purple velvet, gold-roped bag, will be available in two casino color combos, white with green and black with red, and will run sizes 7-14. Fashioned from premium leather, the shoes’ casino stylings include the signature Puma form stripe featured in felt for a poker-table feel, as well as the hotel’s logo embossed on a gold leather footbed and in velvet embroidery on a gold tab on the back of the sneaker. Puma included the playing card suites on the heel and under the tongue to further emphasize the casino theme. Each sneaker comes with three sets of gold-tipped laces in white, green, and red.
To celebrate the launch of the shoe, the hotel will circulate 2,000 $5 limited-edition chips on its playing floors beginning Tuesday. With industry leaders and tastemakers in town for fashion trade shows and events, Puma will be hosting a suite at the property to celebrate the launch.
The relationship between Puma and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas dates back to 2005, when Puma first outfitted its pool staff.
