...of my collection! That is what I use to always say to "Florida" Bob Ginsburg. Bob gave me the token below back in the old Prodigy days, before there was a Chip Board...around 1996. Mine is different on the back though.
Below is a post that Bob made on the Prodigy Board about the Dixie Duck, on March 17th, 1997. In the post he takes a funny (no smiley faces back then) shot at me because I would always kid him about the Dixie Duck & the tokens.
Andy - Las Vegas
"I had nothing at all to do yesterday so I made a quick 4 hour trip to Key West & much to my surprise the HMS Dixie Duck was undergoing a face lift! I kid you not. The ship/boat/scow was being scraped to remove all of the rust. I got to talk to the guy who was working on the boat, who had a patch over one eye, had a wooden leg & a parrot on his shoulder & spoke like Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther movies, & was told that the boat was sold to Coastal Casino Gaming. These are the folks who operate the SeaEscape out of Ft. Lauderdale. He said that he was told that the ship would sail sometime in April, if he worked fast enough. If he knows what he is talking about, can the elusive Dixie Duck chips be far behind? When I made the 4 hour return trip, I called the number I had for the Dixie Duck & sure enough, the recording stated that the ship had been sold to Coastal Gaming & was being prepared for sailing sometime next month. The saga continues & Andy Hughes will eat his disparaging words. More info as it becomes available. Bob"
