"Approx how many chips were in play during the summer series, and approx how many did you lose?"
We lost very few. In fact we caught two players harvesting chips and got them back.
Too much trouble to research how many in play. We had 4 tournys a day and 3 sets of chips in use.
Observations:
NCV chips come under the same regs as value chips.
They legally can not be notched and sold in the gift shop. (I know it has been done in the past.)
IMO, if someone has 8 complete sets including the large denoms, they were not harvested, they came from an insider. IMO and insider would not take a measly 8 sets.
IMO Harrahs would be looking to catch the guy and could very well prosecute him.
At the 1st Horseshoe Tunica championship a worker got out with a large lot of chips. With a little research she was tracked down. Not sure if they prosecuted but she lost a tourny position she held for many years. IMO her job would have grossed well over $100,000 a year, as she was a member of an elite tourny staff that traveled the tourny circuit.
If your 300,000 chip count is correct, that would be a $300,000 plus asset that would now be worthless. IMO the set would not be used again. At least it would not be used if I was tourny director.
