You may want to check out Allan Myers' Crest and Seal list at Chequers Magazine to get an idea as to what's in some collections. Also, USPC has a library with all their sample books with actual special order chips made over a 30-year period. If you ever want to dabble in the rarer C&S material, I'll be more than happy to help you and showing you what I have available. Otherwise, you can build a very nice collection of C&S chips that are available for between $5 and $50 each.
