I thought it was well known that Hotel Nevada, BM was a Borland customer.

As far as I am concerned, the 'Borland story' includes also any genuine chips that utilised the same hot stamp dies which Borland later used himself. I do not believe your chip was made by him, but I do know he made 25c, $1 & $5 chips and he made the $5's in at least 3 colors - red, day red & blue.
