I personally don't like slabbing. I love my chips. I like to hold them in my hands.
That being said, I can see where someone willing to spend 45K on a chip would be willing to pay extra for an assurance that the chip is was it is supposed to be. How he/she gets that assurance? I dunno. Ultimately though, it is his chip. If he wants to have it slabbed, it is his choice, just as it is the choice of those against slabbing not to buy slabbed chips.
The whole issue took a turn for the worse when David responded with the "slabber with a history" thing. I know there is a history here, but I personally didn't like the response. I think other 'newbies" are sensitive to that kind of condecending attitude. It translates into "get lost slabber".....and when I read THAT into it, I start questioning whether or not I want to be aligned with people who treat others like that, even if I agree with them.
