As is the case with all chips being collected, the "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder.

Besides the chips from casinos that have some personal meaning to me, I collect primarily Western/Rodeo-themed chips, and "girlie" chips.

You can't get much more "girlie" than hooters chips. I don't really care how the release policy is (which I think has poisoned the minds of many folks on this board relative to these chips), other than that I appreciate the trouble folks go to in order to get one for me.

I don't buy these chips to support the casino, but because they appeal to me as a "girlie chip" collector.

To each his own, I say. There are some chips from other places that others really clamor for, but me?, nah...

I suppose the fact that many of y'all view the hooters chips as "cheap garbage" means you are just expressing your opinioins, of course, just like I am....

But I don't think it warrants a statement regarding the people who collect these chips such as "Collecting Hooters Chips Is A Disgrace".
