Re: Info needed on Westerner chip find

Hiya Doug, yes, "lot" seems to be the operative word here. Bought the set of roulettes a year ago and the $1 arrowdie shortly after. eBay seller was Patricia Scofield out of Reno doing auctions as patjanekathy. She put up sets consecutively and sprinkled in the $1 along the way. I queried her about number available and got a shuck and jive about how she was selling them for someone else blahblahblah. I figured that the guide prices were out the window and paid somewhat more vbg than the chips subsequently brought on eBay as the months passed. Part of the facts of life of this hobby is the volatility of prices when "finds" come on the market. Bought these babies eyes wide open as an experienced collector and got some great chips that I like a lot!

This seller may be the bird with the big box 'o Westerner chips. $49 for these three wheelies seems like a good opening bid price, I might start these at the same price if'n they were mine. The roulette in my scan is the true color of the yellow in the set for sale.

I posted about the $1 chip when I got mine last year. I'd only seen three examples up till then and they were beaters. Heard from some chippers who had paid @ $1400 for their examples but that's chip collecting! Buy what you like and you'll never be disappointed in what it's worth. Bob and Weave Patty had one of the arrowdies at a $45 "Buy It Now" price there at the end of her part in this story. Sheesh. Haven't been following these chips since late last year.
