Why does it take so long? Well, for one thing just keeping up with currently issued chips is a major undertaking. Trying to keep up with current chip values is yet another. And once all that stuff is in the database we use, it has to be turned into "pretty" publishable form before it can be printed.

Short answer: it's a ton of work.
