NCR-Helldorado #2
In Response To: NCR-Helldorado #1 ()

Until it was closed to vehicles, in 1994, the parades took place on Fremont Street.

During the four days of the celebration, sheriffs kept a sharp eye out for any Vegas resident who wasn't wearing western attire. Anyone "arrested" for such an infraction was tossed into a kangaroo jail, and was the object of good-natured ridicule. On the donkey is Louise Di Fleour, the first Helldorado Queen.

This photo was taken, during Helldorado Days, in the Sal Sagev bar, where Sid Martin served his famous Sloe Gin Fizz.

In April, at the Gamlers General Store, we found these cards. Normally we don't buy anything marked LE, but I'm a sucker for old photos and factoids...so I bought 'em. Kinda neat, huh?
