For those of you who received the last Texas Newsletter, you hopefully read the article about Thelma "Kay" Maceo. In short, Thelma was the wife of Vic Maceo, cousin of Sam and Rose - the undisputed Godfathers of Galveston. A few of the Maceo wives had chips made up with their names or initials on them and used them in the various illegal casinos owned by the family. This ensured that the winnings (or losses) from the wives would not get mixed in with the real players.
Kay's chips are marked "KAY" and come in purple, red and yellow. The owner of the chips wanted to know if I would try and sell some for him. They are not my chips, so I have no ability to make trades for them.
If you are interested, the price is $60 for the set of 3 chips, or $25 apiece. Email me if you want the entire Newsletter article mailed to you. The chips are not mine, and I am taking nothing for the sale, but I can ensure they are authentic.
Take care,
Ed Hertel
