To summarise. I posted yesterday the reason they put the chips on display. They expected a visit from gaming and had to make sure they were 'visible'. That was not a tongue in cheek comment.
The same scenario prevailed for several years at the Hard Rock, when one person totally controlled all releases. The same inflated prices occurred then, and some of those are still maintained, as the rest of the chips still have not shown up.
Complaints were made to gaming and they were ready to pull the plug on LE's. It needed the co-operation of a big wig on the strip to avoid that happening.
The view of gaming is that chips are made for one purpose - 'gaming'. Gaming does not even consider that casinos should readily 'sell' LE's at face as it considers they profit from doing so.
Gaming have received many complaints about Hooters and I would not be surprised if they are ready to pull the plug again shortly. Be warned.
