Firstly i apologise if this sounds condascending or upsets anyone but its just my take on the Hooters situation.
Now the Hooters secondary market to me (and i have only been chipping a few months) seems way way above anything else LE, maybe its the issue size, maybe its the fact its a new casino, maybe its the fact they have half naked women on. But when you can buy something for $5 and sell it immediatley for $30+ why wouldn't you want a piece of that action. Now who is the best placed to get this secondary profit, well Hooters employees. It's pretty obvious to me that if i worked at Hooters i wouldnt want to see other people walking out the door with $25 glued to each chip i had just sold to them. Call it unethical, call it sharp practice but these people have a distinct advantage over the rest of us that they can get their hands on the commodity first, same for the dealers, maybe they have been told they have to display the chips in the chips tray and maybe they have been told to give one to every person who buys in for a certain amount, or maybe they have been told to give one to people who play a certain amount. IMO the only place these LE chips end up is swapped for their tips, in their pockets and out the door.
This is by no means intended as a swipe at dealers, infact if it wasnt for someone who goes a long way to get them i wouldnt have the Hooters collection i do. Nor is this a defence of Hooters, just if you found a goldmine in your backyard, would you let people come and buy chunks of it cheap to sell elsewhere? or would you want to sell it all yourself?
Sadly with the secondary market as it is this is gonna happen cos people know they can make money, if they were selling for $8 on ebay, i'm 100% sure this wouldnt be happening but until they are, in all likelihood it will.
Regards to all
Andy
