What difference does it make if the person was in the hall of fame or not? Right is right, wrong is wrong. Unfortunatley, I think that not withstanding a depiction of torturing an animal (which I am sure will earn you a very warm space in hell) I think that both Gene and Stu are way out of line and both should be equally shunned.
