...is a quiniela bet placed on two consecutive races. You have to pick 1st and 2nd place in both races, but you don't have to have them in order. Betting them in order is an exacta bet. Then there's a trifecta, where you pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd, in order. I used to go to our local greyhound track every night, and my favorite bet was a trifecta box. I could pick 4 dogs (half the field) and bet them every way possible in a trifecta for $20 a race. It was fun, and when it hit, it paid decent to very good.
