Yes, I've voluntarily posted a warning flag to anyone who is interested in knowing about these flagrant knock-off chips that are being mysteriously produced by an undisclosed "buying group" of people. You rightfully cite that folks should become knowledgeable about what they are purchasing. Question for you Jimbo ... How does one become knowledgeable if nothing had been disclosed in advance about these knock-offs?

Did we not learn a valuable lesson from the brass core issue which enlightened folks who were being ripped off ... only after the light of truth was shined upon that scheme? Didn't the altered, repaired, fake chips that David Whalen was producing, become common knowledge through reports on thechipboard ... or should the few people who knew about David and his "restoration talents" have kept their collective mouths shut? Didn't the slabbing issue that former coin collectors and baseball card collectors knew about, benefit those unknowledgeable chippers who were not aware of the abuses in those hobbies?

I see no difference in those who were shining the light of truth on those important issues as I do shining the spotlight on this potential chip misrepresentation.

You can bet that when these fantasy "Coconut Beach Hotel Casino" chips begin appearing on ebay, or mass marketed; being offered as "commemorative casino chips" or whatever other deceptive marketing term may be applied to them ... I and several other concerned club members will be interested in the ebay seller's user name and auction descriptions and we would hope that these individuals are not affiliated with the club.

On the other hand ... maybe nobody really gives a sh!t and everyone should simply fend for themselves ... according to your stated position.
