Dave, Hotels.com knows what time frame the card info is from. If you used a card with them during that time frame, you would have received a call from your card company, followed by a letter from Hotels.com.

I appreciate the fact that they've tried to curtail the damage potential of such a theft, but the fact that such a theft was even possible exposes an incredibly sloppy system of handling and storing such important information by the company. There is no good reason that information should have been on a laptop sitting in someone's car.
