Archie, I shuldn't answer that question on the ground that a truthful answer will clearly show the limits on dexterity. But I started shuffling in 1975 after I was playing at Harrahs at the $1 & $3 7 card game which in those days was all I dared risked. There was a lovely young Asian woman playing one night; she had long red polished nails and she was shuffling a huge stack of chips [some of them came from me]. I made up my mind that if I couldn't play well at least I'd shuffle chips--maybe I could impress some unattached lady if I did it really well. But, sad to say, I sit silently shuffling chips while the pretty ladies rake 'em in and make no offer to buy me supper.
