Roy has expressed my sentiments exactly. Isn't that what AUCTIONS are for? "Sold to the highest bidder". What does friendship have to do with bidding in an auction? It's competition. If you are playing basketball and your friend is on the other team, do you simply allow him to make the almost assured layup go unchallenged, to win the game?
What incentive is there for someone to put a valuable chip up for sale on ebay if all the so-called "friends" are going to lay off of it because they don't want to hurt someone's feelings? If there is an A.C. chip I want for my collection, I don't care who is bidding for it. If he/she wants it bad enough, he or she is going to have to top my bid in order to get it. That's what auctions are all about. Hope all you "friends" don't come to the CC>CC convention auction with that attitude. Defeats the whole purpose of conducting an auction.
How 'bout your thought Mr. Auctioneer, Jim Kruse.... and Auction Chairman, Bruce Landau????
