The cost of printing the Club magazine has very little to do with the number of copies printed and just slightly more with the actual postage.
The main cost is in the set up.
Reducing the quality would have some impact but still very little in the overall picture.
Now for my personal 1 ½¢ worth:
I am a life member of the APS and receive their montly publication. I tend to toss it as it is mostly advertising with a few very good articles. The advertisement more than pays for the cost of publication and mailing. Ours I read first.
I am not wealty but the value to be able to put my membership number after my name is certainly worth the ¼¢ per day.
Just my opinions and please No Flames.
Wishing all enough,
