There has been a lot of talk about this subject, especially for being only a $10 a year increase. Do the chippers really feel this is unfair? I am one of the "lucky ones" whose membership anniversary date came before the increase. I wasted no time in becomming a lifetime member. One reason is because it was a way to avoid paying future membership increases. I forgot who told me that, but they were right, weren't they. I find it hard to believe that I was the only one who was told this.

My personal feeling is that every club member who has been a member for less than three years should be given the opportunity to become a lifer for the $300 fee. If there are "bad apples" among them I am sure they will be weeded out by the rest of the club members. I think the club should do away with the three year waiting period to become a lifetime member. I also think that those members who have been in the club for more than three years should have to pay the $450 fee to become a lifetime member. They at least had a chance to join for life, but for whatever reason didn't. Now they should have to pay the price. By the way, what are the chances that there will be another increase in the future? I kinda think there will be. Of course, when that happens people will be wishing they could pay the $450 fee instead of say maybe a $600 fee.

This is a great club, with great people, and a great magazine. Definitely worth an extra $10 a year. I also belong to a Green Bay Packer fan club. Annual dues are $100.00. The magazines aren't as nice, the "get togethers" aren't as nice, and I hardly know any of my fellow members in that club. I still have plenty of fun, and will continue to be a member. If I had to chose between the two, however, I would have to the chip club. I have twice as much fun at less than half the annual fee. I see no reason why there should be any complaining about a $10 membership increase for such a fine club as our CCGTCC.
