I think a group of casinos exploiting the chip collector by issuing high denomination only LE's had a direct affect on the demand for the obsolete older chips. When someone like myself decided that the higher denomination issues were reason enough to stop collecting from the area, it meant that I didn't bid $400 for a Brighton $2.50 on eBay, a chip that had an opening bid of $1000 at the 1998 convention auction.
