Attention: Gene Trimble & Others Re: Le Cove chips

I don't see Matt's post in my thread and find it, here is Matt's response:

All,

It has been many moons since I felt the desire to make a comment on this
chipboard. Truly this is a fascinating thread. It boggles my mind
sometimes how everyone seems to grab onto a topic and spew forth information
that has little basis in fact or first hand knowledge. I am amazed Gene
seems to refer to me as someone he has spoken with on this topic or has
information from me indicating how and when I acquired them. Furthermore it
amazes me that when I asked him a couple years ago about the origin of these
chips he made similar assumptions to what Bob has said about them.

I have it on reasonably good authority that these chips were never sold in
any of Paulson's retail outlets as fantasy chips and they were not
considered fantasy chips by any of the Endy family - who still owned and
managed the Paulson company in Vegas when these chips were made. When I say
reasonably good authority, I am refering to Mike and Dave Endy.

My 2 cents are that so far Bob has handled all the condescending BS from the
chipboard quite well and seems to understand the value of these chips, they
are primarily in the eye of the beholder and "single chip" collectors never
seem to fairly estimate the value of an incredibly beautiful and playable
set of casino quality chips. Bob is not spewing fancy stories, he is
relaying informatio he believes is accurate as do I. No matter what their
true origin or purpose was, when compared to the many "known" Paulson
fantasy lines like the Bond, Casino de Mexico, Fan of Cards chips or
otherwise these were made in extremely small numbers. I am confident less
then 16,000 were made and compared to the other Paulson fantasy lines this
would be rare to say the least. When compared to the aestetic appeal of
Bond chips, I would pay 2x to 4x for Le Cove's any day...

FACT: Prior to a few years ago when these chips were first released from
Paulson they were never seen or heard of before in the general market place
(including eBay, members of the Chipboard, CCGTCC and relatively longtime
employees of the two existing Paulson outlet stores). If these were
originaly intended as fantasy chips by Paulson, one would have to assume
that they would have been sold through their retail outlets - this was never
done. Bob lived close to the one in Atlantic City and regularly visited
there and could probably confirm this info. I personally called upon these
outlets and was told the same story, furthermore I engaged Dave Endy in this
topic and he speculated that they were made for a special client as a gift
or that they were made on spec for a prospective casino client.

As he has done with realestate, Bob will make out extremely well on these
chips he bought from me.

Maybe similar stories will soon be told about
http://www.ccgtcc.com/fantasy/images/presidentny.jpg. Casino Never
Opened??? How could it? When was the last time there was a casino in New
York, New York? Maybe the Rounders Card Club days...

Take care all,

Matthew Foster
