Funny that I noticed this after reading the above posts. Going through eBay gets you lots of laughs and a hatred of mankind.
In addition to the misuse of "rare," another word destroyed is "vinatge" and "old." These words are used because they are small and fit easily into the 45-space auction headline. Plus they fool people. And they are subjective, so no one can be easily nailed. ("I didn't know." "I have not seen these in years or ever." "I didn't trip over one walking down the sidewalk." Etc.). THE REALLY FUNNY THING IS THAT THESE SELLERS DON'T EVEN HAVE THE CHARACTER TO KNOW WHAT A LIE IS. THEY JUST DON'T CARE, PERIOD. They will say anything that does not get them in jail. And no one can prove anything, as it is all so subjective.
I sensed this dealer was selling the most common design poker chip made -- the jockey on the horse chip. Here the title says "8 Old Rare........" with three exclamation points. The description says "8 Great Old......." with two exclamation points. And the great, old, rare auction starts at $1 with no reserve!
Here is the URL to the auction:

They are said to be in good shape, too (although scan does not convince me; maybe good shape means they are in one piece), and gee whiz!, the chip has the same image on each side, according to the seller!
