I haven't readthis thread, or the one referenced, but I want to deal with your question.

THis is a great club for lots of reasons. There are lots of wonderful people, who genuinely love the hobby, and enjoy not only collecting but helping Newbies (like you and me).

I don't think I know 'norm', but he appears to be an anomoly. Bad spelling sorry.

I admit that discussions become heated and strong, on many topics. Chipping yes, but sports, religion, (I guess those are the same), and even politics. I had a humdinger with Archie Black (past club president) that was very heated. At the same time we were carrying on a totally separate conversation where he explained to me why inserts were called inserts.

This BB is like a corner bar; everybody pretty much knows each other, but anybody is welcome, not everybody is in the club, but we try to get you if we can. The same arguments come up, and occasionally someone gets a bit out of joint, but generally the talk is good natured, and when someone is in need whether great or small, somebody is there to help.
