I have been looking into the HHR D4C chip contraversy. Following is preliminary.
Langworthy was in business as early as the 40's maybe the 30's in Detroit Mi.
I have found and talked to relatives of the founder. The man that took over from him was Tony Andreano. I thought I had found him, but it was a nephew. Tony is dead. I am in search for a salesman from Langworthy in the 50's. He is supposed to be alive.
I have seen a written document that says The Dunes opened with a HHR chip in 1955 and The Hacienda opened with a HHR in 1956. The chip racks lists these 2 chips as being issued in the 1960's. I would take that to mean as early as 1960 What do you think Michael? Could the 1960's be off a few years?
The CR lists the D4C as closing in 1951. I have verbal statements from 2 people that says the D4C was open until 1955. The story of how the chips were found is intriging. Do not have proof that it is true, YET.
I have found Mrs Hoot Gibson. She has her own plane and flies to Laughlin quite often. Someone is trying to get me an interview on her next visit.
"HELP" Does anyone have any information on counterfits being made in Mo in the 50's and 60's. This story has cropped up several times in several of my searches. I can't pin it down.
At this time I am not prepared to say the chips are real.
