The interesting aspect is there is no technical definitions. With the 'strip' redefining itself almost daily, it seems like an interesting topic.
I have stayed at the Rio, and visit the Palms, and know people at both that consider themselves part of the "strip experience", whatever that is.
If you go to any of the web sites (such as Vegas.com, or individual casino sites, many play with the term strip quite a bit.
While I agree that San Remo/Hooters is not on the strip, nor is the Hilton, The convention Center has included them when referring to the Strip.
ONe other point, the Monorail was designed to connect the Strip casinos, from one end to the other. The Monorail goes from Sahara to Tropicana (the streets), which were the original historical lines.
My own view is outlined in this 'strip' of posts. As long as they keep churning out chips, its all good.
