Not all collections will be for not. I collect because it's fun. Some collect for profit and that is fine, but it's not my game.
Something to think about.... There are so many collectors now that most chips will be common as it is easier than ever to trade with people across the country..... My favorite chips are some of the most common.... Also when chips are sold in bulk they are most often sold as home poker sets. I personally have one from the New Sonny's that was located down in Federal Way. I can tell you that I am not going to be selling them off one by one, because who wants to break up their home set?
The way I see it, if you are into current house chips from anywhere to turn a profit over the long run, you are in the wrong hobby. Or perhaps you should consider the 'old school' vegas chips, which are already rare.
Also, have you seen what the Vineyard chips are going for? There is nothing particularly appealing about those chips.
