The Bank Club was in Emeryville Ca at 3900 San Pablo Ave. It was called the Bank club because it was in a closed branch of the Bank of America (Originally Bank of Italy) which had been converted into a bar/restaurant called the Bank Club by the Nikitarous family, who lived upstairs. It only operated for about 2 years ca 1985 as a pai gow card club. Card clubs have never been legal in Oakland, Ca alathough many illegal clubs operated there during WW I. Card clubs have always been legal in Emeryville, dating back to at least 1875, when the Jockey Club operated at the race track there.
