Am I expected to do only what the majority feels I should do? Is that freedom for all? I don't want to have the views of anybody forced upon me. I desire the opportunity to learn, and to take from all cultures the best. I may not succeed but the journey is valuable also.
I will wish people a Merry Christmas, and I will modify it to Happy Holidays, or Season's Greetings when appropriate. I will question the actions of my government, when I disagree with them, and I will argue the law, as it is, with all its imperfections, on a daily basis.
I will take the opportunity, whenever possible, to thank any veteran, or current member of our armed forces for their sacrifice. While I may agree or disagree with the way they were used, they followed orders and put their lives on the line, so I could walk into court tomorrow and defend my client (whether he (or she-pc) be a victim of the abuses of law enforcement, or a gutter punk) to the absolute best of my ability.
I will exercise my right to be free, think as I wish, worship as I choose. But I will also try and respect others and their right to be free, and think, and worship.
[Archie, I know your a good man, and some of the things in the article make sense, some don't. Good people can disagree]
But for those that want to force me to follow only what they approve, I have a thought: for those that don't want me to be able to do these things, I want you to feel free to kiss my as*.
God Bless America, and the differences which makes us a better place.
And if somebody said Merry Christmas to you, and it offended you, then you have a really crummy life.
Man I really need to finish my work and go home.
