I had used plastic drawers (like Damon showed earlier) to store inventory for several years. During this time the weight of the chips forced them out of shape so they would no longer open and close. I wanted something more similar to what some casinos use.

On the face of it, when the supplier had informed me they could make me 'custom' drawers to fit off the shelf cupboards, and I could combine them with other standard components, it seemed easy.

I did not however consider that the suppliers price 'including' installation only applied if it was fitted on the ground floor. (yes it was in the small print on the back that you can only read with a microscope).

The cupboard were supposed to be delivered a day in advance of the fitter with the custom drawers. They didnt. They arrived the day after, and had NO DOORS. The suppliers now told me that as the installation was upstairs, the cupboards supplied could not be used as there was no way they could carry them up. They would have to bring them flat packed and assemble them on site. This was going to cost me an extra $1000 in addition to the doors not yet supplied which they had not yet charged me for.

I looked back at the contract. Fitting was 'optional'. Although I would be forgoing a couple hundred $$ already paid, I figured I could do it myself. I called them up. Sounded like they didnt really want the job and felt they'd had enough $$ out of me anyway. They agreed that if I paid for the doors, they would refund the fitting charge, deliver the doors and flat pack cupboards and take away the redundant ones.

No more details necessary except it took me about a week during which I was working 'off the floor' of almost every room in the house. Anyway, this is what I ended up with. The cabinet, in 4 sections, spans a 12 foot wall. Left hand section contains items related to mailing.
