Greetings,
I'm the owner of the chips that contacted Robert with help identifying them. First off, thanks Robert for your diligence.
For those interested, here's what I know about the chips:
1. The set has a tally sheet booklet with "GC Inc." stamp on it. Can't find any info on this company... any ideas?
2. From the musty smell, the amount of rust on the metal hardware of the case, and the gaudy green covering, I'd estimate the set to be from the late 1960s to mid 1970s. This would put date the set before Borland got his hands on the Nevada mold.
3. Neither Robert nor I can figure out how a company would be able to distribute casino blanks like this without there being amble record of doing so.
I have pictures of the full set if anyone is interested and I can produce better scans of the chips; however, at this time, I'm more interested in gathering info about the set rather than looking for buyers.
Thanks!
Dave
