Re: Please Help ID. Old Casino Chip Charm Bracelet?

Terri, it certainly sounds as though you have a Monaco chip and token charm bracelet. The pieces you described are known as tokens. There should also be a couple of dark red chips with filigreed centers, as well as a couple of acrylic or celluloid chips, right?

Back in the early 50's, an American jewelry dealer bought a large bunch of Monte Carlo obsolete tokens and chips, drilled them all, and made them into the charm bracelets like the one you have. As a result, most known pieces of these tokens and chips have holes in them.

The bracelet and mountings themselves are inexpensive metal that at one time were gold plated. The chips and tokens are worth more to collectors individually than the bracelet itself is.

They are legitimate chips and tokens that were used in Monaco, but which were turned into jewelry when the chips and tokens were replaced for play.
