Here's a nice picture of the baccarat room at the Sands in the early days... probably the early sixties. Note there are no plaques on the table. There are no chips either, except for the lammers used to keep track of commissions due from the players. All wagering was with US currency... nice crisp $20 bills for the most part. I thought I remembered a paddle was used by the dealer to collect and pay bets, but I don't see one here.
