...it was too late and I was too tired to make it to Fallon. I stopped to spend the night in Austin, NV. I found a motel that looked the part and got a room. I then went over to an old hotel to eat. When I got back I went to bed and shortly discovered I wasn't the only living thing between the sheets. Man there were cockroaches everywhere (some big enough I could have ridden) and earwigs. The air conditioner rattled like you cannot believe and the dripping sink even with the washcloth tied around it dripped. What a dump. I went out and slept in my truck. Someone called the police and about an hour later a patrol car lit up my pickup and two law enforcement guys called me out. I explained and they had a big laugh but let me sleep in my truck because I'd paid for a room.
