I still stand behind the rest of what I said though. As someone who has battled to be equal in work and life and who has never wanted a handout, I get really tired of people thinking they know what is right and what is wrong. It's not always so clear cut or black and white. Until someone walks a mile in my shoes they don't really know and I don't assume to know what other people have gone through. I think our country is very divided today and that makes me sad. Remember when we are divided we are much more easily conquered. I think sometimes we are our own worse enemies for not having the compassion and understanding for our brothers and sisters and I mean all of our brothers and sisters, and I am guilty of this myself at times. I've been around for awhile now and I have seen many things, but I don't remember feeling the country being this divided. However, I do feel that we will find our way back again. I lived through Nixon and Vietnam and I will live through this President's mess as well. My only hope is that we will emerge strong and compassionate for ourselves and the world at large.
