Larry, will the count down for the millennium start Jan 1,2000

Jan 1, 2001 we will be 1 year into the new millennium

or do we start Jan 1 2001 with the count down to the 1st year of the

millennium. Dec 31, 2001 we will complete the 1st year of the millennium

I am still confussed??????????????
