I absolutely agree with your definition there Charles.
I can tell you from personal experience, when I attended some union conventions as a Delegate during the early-mid 1980's, many a case of beer and a few bottles of booze were purchased at the corner liquor store with casino chips. I'm equally sure that many a barber has accepted casino chips in payment for a haircut in Atlantic City and in Las Vegas. In fact, some pawn shops still display hocked casino chips in their windows for sale. Also, I don't believe that a taxi or limo driver or parking valet would turn down a white, red or green chip as a tip. The bums on the boardwalk (ooops ... I mean "homeless people") wouldn't think of returning a chip or token that was dropped into their cup.
