I've noticed a lot of chip collector's business cards with various chips and other artwork displayed on them. Are there any rights issues with these images?
Can you just photocopy any chip on the business card without concern? For instance, my most likely candidate is the $100 Secretariat chip from The Palms that pictures the horse and jockey. Normally Secretariat images are jealously protected. "The Palms" name would also be trademarked, and possibly infringed by the use. If I was promoting my collectibles business using those items, would that be an infringement at all?
However, since it's just a sample of a used item that would be for sale (the chip), maybe there would be no problem.
Need some input about putting normally restricted images on business cards.
Thanks,
Cinch
