Re: According to Mason, Greg's M&N is a C&

Yes, you're right, Rich, there are a lot of
questions to be answered, but most of us do not know
these answers, either. The transition period (as
Gene noted) was in the late 1940's when USPC
liquidated to Burt. Most of USPS's Crest and Seal
operations stopped during WWII, to continue again
after the war. In my Cincinnati search and research,
I've come across persons who have worked at the
plant in the "Poker Chip Division" telling me it was
all over by '49. I have Crest and Seal chips which
were made to commemmorate (something) with the dates
1898 - 1948 included on them that came out of Cincy,
which backs up what Mr. Race, the past museum
curator, told certain persons years ago. He has
since died. From most of the actual salesman's
samples books in the USPC library/museum, we only
know for sure of what was manufactured there up to
about 1939. There are many unanswered questions about
the Crest and Seal, Rich, and maybe one day we will
have those answers.
