Schill bidding, while it may not be illegal, is immoral, cheating, theft.

If a chip is posted with a $1/10/100 minimum bid, and I make that minimum bid, and no one else bids on it, I get it at $1/10/100 even if I was willing to bid up to $10/100/1000.

If there is shill bidding involved and I am forced to bid my absolute maximum of $10/100/1000 to win the chip, then I have been robbed of $9/90/900.

The idea that I should be happy to have the chip, even though I was robbed in the process, is insane.

If someone else has so little self respect that they are willing to be ripped off without protest, I can only pity them.

A thief will continue to steal only as long as he is not caught and exposed. Every incedent of schill bidding should be announced here and reported to ebay.
