Going to The Spike isn't bad, especially if you walk down the sidewalk by the very well lighted Neonopolis.
My buddy Tim and I spent a nice queit Sunday afternoon there, playing for hours on the penny slots. Only one BJ table was open at the time with 3 or 4 players, but was quite lively.
Only one cocktail waitress on, but I tipped her on each round, so she came back frequently.
Most of the patrons seemed to know each other, so it really is a local joint. There was also a security guard walking around drinking coffee.
The place wasn't as scary or as smokey as I had heard.
I really do like the place, and hope the new owners pump some money into making it nicer. Maybe they could take out the video games and add some poker tables or craps.
