I wasn't going to get into this one, but this has been bothering me ever since the storm coverage began.
Isn't it generally the governor that puts the call in for the National Guard, before the Feds get involved. Why didn't the governor call them in sooner? Why didn't she declare martial law sooner? All I could see was her and her aides sitting in a dry office. They were broadcasting, but many of her constituents didn't have a clue.
The governor, or her reps, should have been visibly out there. If the media could get in to cover things, they could have been there as well. I would imagine they have the sort of equipment for at least some of them to have gotten through. All I saw were the reporters and people scrambling.
If I'm wrong on any of this this, someone please correct me.
