Jim B may be able to pull further information but Gene and I discussed this before. We reckon there were probably just 'hundreds' the first time. Maybe more of some than others if someone ordered a home game set etc. but our reasoning was this:
If he ordered even 1000 each first time (lets say there are 7 x 10 originals) then thats 70,000 chips. We guessed the best price in those days was at least 30c a chip. Add tax and delivery and that would be near $25k. Gene didnt reckon he would have had that much cash to lay out in one go.
Looking at what Ive got and seen there are maybe 10x more of the later ones than early ones,
Youve probably got 'dupes' now you didnt know you had Are you going to try and get all the varieties? I have about 50 Borlands to post for sale later and would trade for any of the 8 I still need. I will post my wants list at the same time.
