Keith; No need to get touchy about the chipboard responses to your post. I think they were very educational for most readers in that you seemed to think that no place else has been considered for the club's conventions. In all probablity, if you had posted on the club message board, you would have received replies from a few of the club officers who are responsible for negotiating future convention space. The club officers have made it repeatedly known that they will not respond to club related posts other than on the club message board... but club related posts continue to be made here... so be it.

Extensive surveys have been taken by those charged with negotiating future convention sites ... including Luxor. The facts are that the club convention planners have chosen the properties that have offered the most for our money. In the case of Tropicana as an example ... the ballroom convention facitilites and meeting rooms were FREE as long as the club spent X amount of dollars with catering. I'm sure the club would still be there if Trop offered the same deal to the club ... but rumors persisted that the building was going to be demolished which caused the club to scramble for another suitable site. I still think that the Riviera was a good choice, considering the alternatives, and I hope that we will be nearer to the front of the convention facilities next year at The Riv ... and quite possibly in 2007 as well.
