More details in this mornings' Miami Herald:
POLICE RAID SIX CASINO BOATS
Hollywood SunCruz ship is closed down.
State and county law enforcement officials raided six South Florida casino boats, including three SunCruz ships, stripping them of gambling equipment Tuesday night. (Editorial note: What a revolting development this is!)
The article goes on to say that, named in the civil suit & charged with unlawful casino gaming, were operators of the SunCruz boats in Key Largo, Hollywood & Riviera Beach, as well as the New SeaEscape, Monte Carlo Cruiser & the Palm Beach Princess. The worst offender was the Monte Carlo, where it is alleged that players were cheated by not having all the cards in a deck & not paying out fair odds. The Florida Attorney General & the Broward County Sherrif were both at the SunCruz, Hollywood location, to oversee the raids. Pictures show sherrif's boats surrounding the ship & undercover police officers wearing masks unloading slot machines & other gaming equipment. All chips, tokens & equipment now reside in the property room of the sherrifs' office. I will try to keep you updated on this continuing saga with the next installment likely to be named, "As the seas calm, the wind dies, & dark court battle looms."
