Henry Garret and I have known each other long before I started collecting casino chips. I used to purchase Bust Half Dollars from Henry at ANA conventions in the 80's and early 90's. If Henry has changed his policy on selling slabbed chips, then I as a former customer would change my policy on doing business with him once more.

I agree with Pete's post below ... with one additonal comment with respect to your bidding experience in Henry's auction. Don't pre-judge everyone else by what you witnessed on that one auction sale or in your example of purchasing the hypothetical 50 cent Resort chip from Henry.

I believe that with the exception of very few people who have voluntarily added their name to "The List", the overwhelming majority of folks will honor their slab-free pledge. That fact of the large number of collectors who signed onto The Pledge is what drove the previous slabbers out of our hobby. We can do it again if we are sincere in our efforts.
